Eleanore L. “Ellie” (Bearse) Splaine of Quincy passed away on Friday, January 6, 2011 at age 95. Born in Somerville, she grew up in South Boston and lived in Quincy for 45 years where she worked at St. Joseph’s Rectory. The beloved wife of the late James P. Splaine, Ellie was the loving mother of James Splaine and his wife Lauretta of East Hampton, Robert Spaline and his wife Alice of Phoenix and the late Walter S. “Skip” Splaine; dear sister of Geraldine Tedeschi of Quincy and the late Walter Bearse, Dorothea Scanlon and Eileen Corderey; and is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

A visiting hour will be held on Monday, January 10 from 8:30 to 9:30AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy Point. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
