Eleanor O. Villard of Quincy passed away suddenly at Tufts Medical Center on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 58 years young. The devoted daughter of Vincent J. Villard of Quincy and the late Brenda (O’Brien) Villard, Eleanor was the big sister and best friend of Brenda M. Villard, also of Quincy. The granddaughter of the late Col. Henry J. and Mary Eleanor O’Brien and the late Lawrence E. and Mary Villard, she is also survived by her extended family of wonderful neighbors, aunts and cousins.

A 1971 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth, Eleanor received her BA and MBA from Anna Maria College and followed her career as an accountant at the Boston Company, Multibank and Nellie Mae. A veteran traveller, Eleanor started with the USA, visiting California, Florida, Las Vegas, the Deep South and Hawaii, then went on to cruise to Bermuda, Canada and the Caribbean. In recent years she enjoyed day trips to Mohegan Sun where she and Brenda lived a fan’s dream by meeting her favorite band, Port Chuck, formed of cast members from General Hospital, which she never failed to watch.

Eleanor was the greatest daughter, sister and friend. The sun may rise every day, but will be a little dimmer without you, Eleanor. RIP and thank you for all you did for us.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January12 from 9:00 to 10:30AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery.
