Elinor P. (Rogers) Bythrow of Quincy passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2012 at age 99. Born and raised in Quincy where she lived most of her life, she had also lived in Norwood, Franklin and Randolph. Before retiring in 1978, Elinor had worked as a secretary for 27 years at the Masoneilan International Co. in Norwood and enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing the piano and organ , and reading. She was a communicant of St. Agatha’s Church in Milton.
The beloved wife of the late Ervin Quincy Bythrow, she was daughter of the late Gideon and Elizabeth (O’Connell) Rogers, sister of the late Isabelle Saville, Evelyn Fratus, Henry Rogers and Alfred Rogers; and is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 24 form 2:00 to 5:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a Blessing at the funeral home at 10:00AM followed by burial at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
