Elio J. Dalessio of Quincy passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Raised and educated in South Boston, he served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Having obtained his BA from Fitchburg State College in 1974 Elio taught in Boston Schools for over 20 years before retiring.
The beloved husband of Stella (Dapsis) Dalessio for 65 years, Elio was the loving father of Steven Dalessio and his wife Sandra of Weymouth and Suzanne Velis of Westfield and her husband, the retired Honorable Superior Court Judge Peter Velis; dear grandfather of Nichole Cardarople and her husband John, Danielle Dalessio, Stephanie Velis and Nicholas Velis; great-grandfather of Teagan and Kylie Cardarople; beloved brother of Paula Doherty of Rockland; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday July 10 starting at 10:00AM immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. Burial with Military Honors is at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy.
