Share your Memorial with Family & Friends

Please know caring thoughts are with you during this time of great sorrow. Please remember, not that Gary has died, but that he lived and his life has given you memories too precious to forget. Cherish those memories and may they bring a smile to your face and a calm to your heart. May God's promise that one day you will be reunited with your dead loved ones again give you hope and bring you peace. Isaiah 26:19 guarantees, "Your Dead Will Live. Awake and shout joyfully, You Residents In The Dust!.."

Dear McLaughlin family, I am so sorry to have read of the recent death of your loved one Gary. Please accept my most sincere condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be very comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21:3-5. These verses tell us that soon Jehovah God through his son Christ Jesus is going to bring about a resurrection of our dear loved ones, as well as do away with all the causes we have for suffering, including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts will likewise comfort your family also during this most difficult time in your lives. If you would like to read these Scriptures online for free or find more comforting thoughts, please visit jw.org Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Gary was a great man the ultimate professional at what he did! I worked with him at 1010 Comm Ave. I remember like it was yesterday when Gary came on the air after the Pan AM flight crashed. I answered his call and was on the Expressway heading north by North Station. I was the first photographer there in about 10 minutes. All ways cool calm and professional. God Bless you and your family and may he give you comfort in your loss. Brian M. O'Hara Retired MSP

I've known Gary since we were teenagers growing up in Quincy. Our paths would cross every few years. I am amazed at the magnificent career that he had with the MSP and the outpouring of condolences from all the people he touched in that time. My sincere condolences to the entire McLaughlin family. Please take some comfort in knowing that you and Gary will be in my prayers during this difficult time. I regret that I cannot attend his memorial service on Saturday as I will be out of town at a family funeral. Sad times all around.

Over 9 years ago, Gary hired me as a state police 911 dispatcher at General Headquarters and opened the doors to my career at the greatest department I could ever belong to. He taught me to never let others get the best of you, what a good laugh could do for the soul and always was there for me when needed - as both a boss and a friend. Fast forward to today, I couldn't be the Trooper that I am without Gary believing in me way back in 2008. He left a legacy that will never be forgotten and many memories that I will never, ever forget. Rest easy Gary, please watch out for us up above and Godspeed to Jane and the family during this difficult time of mourning.

I got to know Gary when I was assigned to the Fleet Section at GHQ. He was a true professional, a class act, and a gentleman. He will be missed by all on the MSP who knew him. Rest in peace. (Pete Carbone, MSP Retired)

G-Man. May you be united with Phyllis and Leo and enjoy the loving peace that you so greatly deserve. Thanks for all the camaraderie, laughs, cheers and cigars. You were always there for every one that needed you and you will be missed here on earth. Hope to be able to rekindle our friendship heaven.
