Gayle E. (Caramanica) Campbell, age 65, of Braintree passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016 from pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her family.  Born June 9, 1951, Gayle would initiate conversations with strangers and always made sure to ask people their names. She enjoyed shopping for bargains, clipping store coupons, baking cookies for the holidays, buying her many nieces and nephews Christmas gifts, bowling and playing the slots at casinos with her Aunt Barbie.

The devoted wife of Joseph Campbell for 43 years, Gayle was the loving mother of Gregory Campbell of Cambridge and Courtney Campbell of Seattle, WA. The beloved daughter of the late John C. and Vera E. (Chiavaroli) Caramanica of Braintree, she was the beloved daughter-in-law of Joseph A. and Mary C. Campbell of Randolph; dear sister of John Caramanica, Jr. and his wife Laura Belgrave of FL, Sandra Jones of Quincy, Lynne Misite and her husband Rocco of Quincy, James “Jimmy” Caramanica and his wife Lynne of Norton and the late Robert and Paul Caramanica; sister-in-law of Mark Campbell and Tricia Leach of S. Boston, Mary Campbell of Easton, Jerry Campbell of Easton and Rick Campbell and his wife Nancy of Burlington. She is also survived by Sr. Mary Ridge SND of Ipswich, Aunt Barbie (Chiavaroli) and Uncle Richie Carnali of Quincy, Uncle Paul “Hodie” Chiavaroli and his wife JoAnn of Marshfield, Aunt Pat Chiavaroli of Milton and Aunt Lorraine (Caramanica) Ready of Quincy and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by us all.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Thursday, August 11 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Thomas More Church 8 Hawthorn Rd. Braintree.

In lieu of flowers donations in Gayle’s memory may be made to the Hospice of the So. Shore 30 Reservoir Rd. Rockland, MA 02370
