George T. Raymond of West Quincy passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at age 94. A lifelong Quincy resident, he was a WWII Veteran US Navy. He worked for the Quincy Department of Public Works and retired as Assistant Superintendent of the Sewer Dept. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Holbrook Sportsman’s Club.

The beloved husband of the late June E. (MacLean) Raymond, George was the loving father of Michael J. Raymond and his wife Laura of Hanover, “the other one” Richard S. Raymond and his wife Lisa of Braintree; Jean A. Foye of Quincy and Carol A. Plant and her husband Chris of Holbrook; dear grandfather of Michael, William, Joshua, Zachary, Nicolas, Joseph, Melissa, Chris, Jr. and Caitlin; and is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Tuesday, December 5 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM at St. Mary’s Church 115 Crescent St. W. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors is at St, Mary’s Cemetery.
