Gertrude (Post) Goodrich, 95, of Quincy passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hancock Park Rehab. & Nursing Center. A lifelong Quincy resident, she was born August 29, 1918, the fourth of nine children of Elmer and Celia Post. The beloved wife of the late Edward S. Goodrich who passed away in 1999 after 63 years of marriage, she is survived by her children Trudy Sheehan of Hanover, Celia Bina and her husband Alfred of Quincy, Everett Goodrich and his wife Denise of Foxboro and Michael Goodrich of Arkansas; her grandchildren Lynda (Sheehan) Picardi, Nancy (Sheehan) Gately, Kenneth Sheehan, Edward Sheehan, Lauren (Bina) Chotalal, Robert Bina, Cheryl Bina-Rodriguez, Jeffrey Bina, Jay Goodrich, Erik Goodrich, Adam Goodrich, Beth Goodrich, Matt Goodrich and Erin Goodrich; nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her brothers Peter Post of Oklahoma, Raymond Post and Ralph Post, both of Quincy. She was predeceased by her brothers Arthur Post, Lawrence Post and Richard Post and sisters Hazel Taylor and Louise Conway.

Gertrude filled her life with caring for her family and was always ready to do so, no matter what the need. She enjoyed bingo, sewing, crocheting and family gatherings that included her many grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 17 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00AM at St Chrystosom’s Church 1 Linden St. Quincy. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.

Gertrude’s family wishes to thank the staff at Hancock Park for their wonderful care over the past few years.
