Obituaries

Gertrude M. (Barlow) Knight of Quincy passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at age 92. Born in Fall River where she was raised and educated, she moved to Somerville after marrying in 1948 and later settled in Quincy. A homemaker, she loved to take long walks and to eat out, especially at new restaurants.

The beloved wife of the late C. Ralph Knight, Gertrude was the loving mother of Kathleen Hartford and her husband Peter of Deering, NH and Randolph Knight of Quincy; dear grandmother of Rebecca and Mae Hartford of Deering, NH; beloved sister of Albert Dube of Middleboro and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 8 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
