Gilda (DeSantis) DiCenso of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at age 89. Born in Indrodacqua, Italy, she lived in Quincy for 17 years and worked in the garment industry in Boston. Passionate about cooking for others Gilda hosted many parties at her house for family and friends, including the traditional family Thanksgiving dinner where every imaginable variety of dish was served.

The beloved wife of the late Guerino DiCenso, she was the loving mother of the late Rocco DiCenso; mother-in-law of Maria DiCenso of Easton; dear grandmother of Daniel DiCenso and his wife Maria (Kasparian) of Easton, and Alessia (DiCenso) Symynkywicz and her husband Noah of Easton; great-grandmother of Owen Symynkywicz; beloved sister of the late Panfilio DeSantis, Gino DeSantis, Orazio DeSantis and Amalia DeSantis; and is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Diane DeSantis of Walpole, Francine Gordon and her husband Jim of VA and Joe DeSantis of Walpole.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday July 19th from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial is at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.
