Obituaries

Helen L. (Aspessi) O’Brien of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at age 89. Before retiring she worked as a bank clerk at Dorchester Savings Bank and Hingham Federal Credit Union and was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Irma.

The beloved wife of the late Andrew E. O’Brien, Ret. District Chief Boston Fire Department, Helen was the loving mother of William F. O’Brien of Marshfield and Paul A. O’Brien of Wolfboro, NH; dear grandmother of Kathleen O’Brien-Nejame of Selkirk, NY, Jennifer Magaw of Weymouth, John O’Brien of Newmarket, NH and Adam O’Brien of Cleveland, OH; great-grandmother of Sarah Elizabeth, Colin Andrew, Ian William and Aiden Joseph; sister of the late Irene Johnson and Louis Aspessi, Jr.; and is also survived by her dear friend Brownie Weiglosz of Quincy.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial is at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
