Helen L. (Mason) Stevens of Quincy passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at age 91. Born in Boston, she lived in Quincy most of her life. Helen was a homemaker and a great cook, known for her chocolate chip cookies. She was active in St. Joseph’s Church and the Girl Scouts and was a Red Cross volunteer for 50 years.

The beloved wife for 49 years of the late John F. Stevens, Helen was the loving mother of Barry Stevens and his wife Andrea of N. Berwick, ME, Diane Sandonato and her husband Francis of Quincy, Douglas Stevens of Milton and John Stevens, Jr. of Quincy; dear grandmother of Aurora Stevens of Milton, Josh and Jeremy Stevens of ME and Dean and Amy Sandonato of Quincy; and sister of the late George, Gene, Douglas and Forest Mason. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by her family and close friends, in particular, the Petersons and the O’Neils.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy on Saturday, October 1 at 10:00am. Family and friends are invited. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy. Visiting hours are private.
