Helen M. (Quackenbush) Wilhelmi of Quincy passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the young age of 88. Raised in East Walpole, she graduated from Walpole High School. Helen loved life and had many interests. She displayed a unique flair for showmanship and self expression. This exuberance found outlets in song, dance, and prose. She possessed strong opinions that she was always willing to share and maintained allegiance to area sports teams. Helen was a member of the Belles and Beaus, St. Mary’s Church and the Morrisette Post VFW. Always primary in her devotion, however, was family.

The beloved wife of the late John F. Wilhelmi, Helen was the loving mother of Jacqueline Elinoff and her husband Drew of Hingham, Kathleen Wood and her husband Roger of Sebastian, FL, Teri McGuane and her husband George of South Yarmouth, and John W. Wilhelmi and his wife Deborah of Franklin; sister of Harold W. Quackenbush of Detroit and the late Joseph Quackenbush; and is also survived by 14 cherished grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Tuesday, August 16 from 4:00 to 6:00PM immediately followed by a Celebration of Helen’s Life at 6:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center.
