Obituaries

Ian F. Dunphy of W. Quincy passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at age 21. Born in Weymouth, he grew up in Quincy, graduating from North Quincy High School. In his senior year he was on the football team and also played Quincy Elks football. He worked as an auto glass specialist at Safelite Auto Glass.

The beloved son of Michelle Dunphy Lynch and her husband Robert Lynch of W. Quincy, and Michael Rooney of Quincy, Ian was the loving grandson of Marion (Bailer) Dunphy of W. Quincy and the late Francis Dunphy, Claire M. (Nee) Rooney of Marshfield and the late John Rooney; step grandson of Dolores Lynch of Manhattan Beach, CA; and is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 17 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 10:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30AM at St. Mary’s Church 115 Crescent St. W. Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Quincy.
