Isabelle J. (Thiboutot) Brown of Halifax passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at age 90. Raised and educated in Quincy, she also lived in Braintree, on Cape Cod, in Halifax and at the Golden Living Center in Plymouth. Isabelle worked as a secretary for Stop & Shop and Blue Cross Blue Shield and loved to knit, crochet, sew, cook, garden and travel, but most of all to spend time with her grandchildren.
The beloved wife of the late Chester D. Brown, Isabelle is survived by her ten children, Elizabeth A. Cooper of FL, Arlene L. Colburn of Orleans, Kenneth A. Brown of CA, Wayne D. Brown of North Hampton, Steven M. Brown of Randolph, Kevin S. Brown of Brockton, Douglas A. Brown of Hanson, Kathleen T. McLaughlin of Halifax, Gregory R. Brown Quincy and Judith E. Church of Brockton; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her daughter Janice Brown and grandchildren Brian McSharry and Shenelle Brown.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 3 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church 55 Commercial St. Weymouth Landing. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
