James B. Malnati, age 87,  of Quincy passed away on Monday February 15, 2016 at Ledgeview at the Taylor Community in Laconia NH, his residence for the past 4 years. Born in Weymouth where he was raised and educated, he graduated from Sacred Heart School and lived in Quincy for 60 years. He worked as  pressman for the Boston Globe for over 40 years and was an avid woodcarver and painter who created many beautiful works of art. Jim was the beloved husband of Gilda (Ceriani) Malnati with whom he just celebrated his 65th Wedding Anniversary on February 4th; loving father of Linda Glassett and her husband Robert of Bristol, NH, Paul Malnati of Grantham, NH and his late wife Linda (Durant) Malnati and Edward Malnati and his wife Sharyn of Randolph, MA; dear Grandfather of Robert J. Glassett, Timothy Glassett and his wife Laura, Cathleen Glassett, Jamie Malnati, Jillian Malnati, Samantha Malnati and Joshua Malnati; loving Great-Grandfather of Riley Addison Glassett and Abby Noelle Glassett; brother of Helen McGuiggan of Quincy, MA and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Saturday, February 20 from 9:00 to 10:00AM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St Quincy Center, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM at the St. Mary’s Church 115 Crescent St. Quincy Center. Burial is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

 Donations in Jim’s name can be made to the Home for Little Wanderer’s, 10 Guest Street, Boston, MA, 02135  or the charity of one’s choice.
