James Joseph DeWever of Otisfield, ME, formerly of Quincy, died suddenly on July 11, 2009 at age 43. He is survived by his parents Peter and Carol (Campbell) DeWever of Quincy, his son Devan James DeWever of Norton and his siblings, Karen DeWever Vallone and Steven DeWever, both of Quincy and Diane DeWever O’Brien of Brockton, his aunt, Sr. Patricia Campbell of Halifax, NS and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Quincy High School in 1984, he worked at various jobs before relocating to Maine where he enjoyed hunting and four-wheeling. A great outdoorsman, he loved nature as much as his son and family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Monday, July 20 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Family and friends are invited. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, W. Quincy at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
