Jeanne M. (Cleverly) McManus of Quincy passed away at home with her family at her side on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the age of 82. Raised in Dorchester, she lived in Quincy since 1969 and was a graduate of Boston University with a degree in Physical Therapy. She worked in this field for many years at the VA Hospitals in Boston and W. Roxbury. Jeanne was a proud longtime sports fan of all the Boston teams.

The beloved wife of the late John C. McManus, Jr., she was the loving mother of Jeanne McKay and her husband Michael of Snowmass, CO, Deborah McManus and Mary McManus, both of Quincy, Charles McManus and his wife Colleen of So. Lawrence, Mark McManus and his wife Cheryl of Braintree, John McManus of Weymouth and Richard McManus of Plymouth; dear grandmother of Aidan and beloved sister of Alice Hoskins of Houston, TX, John Cleverly and his wife Vivian of Hingham and the late Ruth Klick and Eleanor Chandler. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 24 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
