Obituaries

Joan F. (Folan) Ross, a lifelong resident of Quincy, passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Joan was the wife of the late Harry A. Ross, sister of the late John Folan and Alice Callahan, mother of Timothy J., Robert C., Russell L., James A., Joanne M. Morrissey and Ellen M. Pecce. She was the beloved grandmother of Marisa, Lucy, Andrew, Emily, Julie Ann, Steven, Evan and Coleman Ross, Colby and James Morrissey and Teresa and Krista Pecce. She also leaves numerous family members and in-laws and her legion of beloved friends.

Joan enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, all things Irish, traveling, boating, working at her many jobs and doing all she could for others. She was a proud member of the Quincy High School Class of 1945, the Gull Point Yacht Club and Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Joan will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Visiting hours will be held at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Thursday, October 22 from 3:00 to 8:00pm. Family and friends are invited. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Friday at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00am. Burial is in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
