Joan M. (Drysdale) Pelletier of Quincy passed away with her family at her side on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at age 83. Raised and educated in Braintree, she lived in Weymouth for 30 years. Before moving to Quincy, she and her late husband Joe spent 9 years touring the country in a motor home visiting 30 states. Joan’s family was the focus of her life and she enjoyed baking, making wedding cakes, playing bingo and pokeno with her friends. A talented knitter, she made afghans for charity, including Dana Farber, veterans’ organizations and kidney dialysis patients.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Pelletier and the late Raoul A. Bellenoit, Joan was the devoted mother of Raoul A. “Ralph” Bellenoit, Jr. and his wife Gail of Port St. Lucie, FL, Paul Bellenoit and his late wife Beth Schneider Brainard of Naples, FL, Michelle Kantos and her husband Alfred of Hanson, Joseph W. Pelletier of Chepachet, RI, James Pelletier and his wife Jeanette of Carver and Joanne Olsen and her husband Scott of Charlotte, NC; dear sister of Viola Russell of Ft. Myers, FL, Bessie Allsopp of Pahrump, NV, June Kinnelman of AZ, David Drysdale of FL, Alice Marshman of Weymouth, Deborah Friedman of Rockland and the late Anabel Pelletier, Albert Drysdale and Jennie Ernst. She is also survived by 17 beloved grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Monday, December 10 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30PM.
