Joan M. (Crooker) Smollett of Rockland passed away at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at age 72. Born in Quincy where she was raised and educated, she lived there and in Weymouth before moving to Leisurewoods in Rockland 9 years ago. She worked as an accountant for Stop & Shop for 25 years before retiring and enjoyed sewing, jigsaw puzzles and most importantly, spending time with her family.

The beloved wife of Robert F. Smollett, Joan was the loving mother of Robert F. Smollett, Jr. of Weymouth, Lori Egerton of Abington, Kathryn Deligolia of Brockton, Frank Smollett of Daytona Beach, FL, Brian Smollett of Flagler Beach, FL and the late Paul Smollett; dear grandmother of Renee, Shannon, Candice, Samantha, Racheal, Frank, John Jr, Paul and Dylan; beloved sister of Geraldine Joseph of Weymouth, Judy Kinney of Daytona Beach and the late Frank Crooker and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Sunday, January 3 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a Funeral Service at the funeral home at 11:00am. Cremation will follow.
