What wonderful memories we have of our time spent with Joaquin and Joyce. He was always smiling, always positive, and so full of energy. How fortunate we all were to have had him in our lives. He will be missed.

Joe was a friend at Dublin and a wonderful soccer player. I only saw him a few times since I left Dublin in 1954, but we discussed Cuba when my parents had to flee when Castro took over. My thoughts and prayers are with you. He will be missed!

Joyce, Karen & Joaquincito - we were so saddened to hear the news... please know that our thought & prayers are with you. We are not sure if our previous message went through, so here it is again: Joaquin was a very special friend to our family and was there for Dad (Gene) in his hour of greatest need before cancer surgery. Joaquin jokingly called it the "Last Supper" after Papito pulled through. We will always be grateful for his love & good cheer and our shared love of the sea. I'm sure Geño & Carmina are telling him face to face in heaven. Our condolences to Joyce, Karen, Joaquincito and all the family. We will always cherish the memories. Joyce, both Rita and I are heartbroken with the news I heard this morning from a friend in Puerto Rico. All I can say is that Joaquín makes me proud to be a fellow-Cuban, and I feel sure he is right now having a great time with Nolo. We will pray for him, and trust he does the same for us.
