John F. Lupo of Brockton, formerly of Quincy, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at age 85. Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ, he lived most of his life in Quincy. A WWII veteran US Navy, he was a construction worker and a member of the South Quincy Social Club and the VFW.

The beloved husband of the late Mary Frances “Fran” Lupo, John was the loving father of John Lupo and his wife Lynn, Janice Lupo, Frank Lupo and his wife Dee, all of Quincy, Michael Lupo and his wife Christine of E. Longmeadow and the late Joseph D. Lupo; the dear brother of Domecick Lupo, Anna Damelio, both of Hoboken and Joseph Lupo of Weehawken, NJ and the late Philomena Salcito, Antoinette Cupo, Carmen, Michael and Vito Lupo; brother-in-law of Dorothy “Dolly” O’Brien of Quincy; close friend of Marilyn Cronin of Brockton; and is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 1 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 10:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors will be at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30pm.
