John J. Cotter of Quincy passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at age 84. A lifelong Quincy resident, he was a Korean War Veteran, US Navy. John worked in security for 27 years with Brinks and 12 years at the Hynes Convention Center.
The beloved husband of Colette M. (Grenier) Cotter, he was the loving father of John S. Cotter of Quincy, Kathleen Garvey of So. Weymouth and Jane Grew of Taunton; and is also survived by his 5 dear grandchildren and his sister Doris Buccio of Florida.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Sea St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
