John T. Monty of Quincy passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at age 83. Originally from Dorchester, he lived most of his life in Quincy. A Korean War Veteran, US Air Force, John was a retired member of Local 4 IUEC. He was an avid sailor and a member of the Town River Yacht Club. The son of the late Joseph and Catherine Maubourquette, John was the loving husband of Virginia (Keady) Monty to whom he was married for 47 years; dear brother of the late Paul Maubourquette; brother-in-law of Kathleen Cully of Milton; beloved uncle of James Cully of So. Boston, Carolyn Cormican of So. Weymouth, Diane Cully of Hanover and Kevin Cully of So. Boston and is also survived by grand-nieces, grand-nephews and many lifelong friends.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, September 24 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Tuesday there will be a Funeral Service at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with Military Honors is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
