Obituaries

Jorge Luis Colón, 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 11th in Boston, Massachusetts after a long battle with cancer. Jorge was born in Puerto Rico and spent most of his life in Massachusetts where he worked as a pleater in a garment factory and a furniture salesman. Beloved husband of over 60 years to Heliodora Colón. Father to Yolanda Barros and Elizabeth Bonilla and their spouses, Jeffrey Barros and Miguel Bonilla. Grandfather to Jennifer Diaz and her husband Luis Diaz, Michael Bonilla and his wife Luz Bonilla, Jessica Bonilla and Tiffany Rodriguez. Great grandfather to Ethan Bonilla, Kayla Diaz, Luis Diaz, Nathan Bonilla and Josiah Diaz. He is also survived by his loving sisters Rosita, Norma, Haydee, Juanita, Masi, Luz Maria and Virgenmina. Jorge will be greatly missed along with his deceased siblings, Iris and Hector.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Monday, September 16 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Tuesday there will be a Funeral Service at11:00AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is at Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Dana-Farber Cancer Center in memory of Jorge.
