Joseph E. Pacetti, 83, of Quincy passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital on Aug. 11, 2012. A lifelong Quincy resident he was raised in So. Quincy and lived in Hough’s Neck for over 49 years. A Korean War Veteran, US Army, Joe worked for the Post Office for over 30 years, delivering mail to his neighbors and in Quincy Center. After retiring in 1985, he opened The Locker Room in Wollaston where he sold and bought sports cards and memorabilia for 15 years. An avid bowler, Joe was a member of several So. Shore leagues and a volunteer umpire for the Hough’s Neck Women’s Softball League. A true Boston sports fan, he especially loved the Red Sox and Patriots. Joe was happiest at family gatherings at the pool and apple picking with his grandchildren.

The beloved husband of the late Marion J. (Nash) Pacetti, Joe was the loving father of Richard Pacetti of Whitman, Stephen F. Pacetti, Michael J. Pacetti, Jo-Anne Pacetti and her husband John Scarcella and Susan Pacetti, all of Quincy; beloved “Pa” of Santina, Ricky and Stephanie; dear brother of Anita Hill of Quincy and Gloria Sproul of Randolph; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 16 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, W. Quincy.
