Joseph P. Ciarcia of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the age of 80. Born in East Boston where he was raised and educated, he lived in Quincy for 18 years. A Korean War veteran US Army, Joseph worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital as a maintenance fireman for over 20 years. He was a member of Club Logan in East Boston, loved spending time with his grandchildren, bowling, travelling, cruises and the Boston sports teams, especially the Boston College Eagles.

The beloved husband of Madeleine F. “Cookie” (Lawler) Ciarcia to whom he was married for 48 years, Joseph was the loving father of Christopher J. Ciarcia and his wife Patricia of Medford, Michele Fowler and her husband Alwyn of Whitman, dear grandfather of Gabrielle, Matthew, David and Jacqueline Ciarcia and Lisa Marie and Laura Ann Fowler; beloved brother of Tina Leone of Burlington and the late Rose Crecenzi and Emanuel Ciarcia; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his dear friend Vincent Falzone.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 12 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
