Obituaries

Joseph P. “Joey” Kelly passed away August 18,2014 at the South Shore Hospital after a courageous battle from Multiple Sclerosis with his loving family by his side.  Born in  Quincy and raised and educated in Braintree he has lived in Braintree most of his life. He was a Pipecoverer  for Local 6.

Joey  is the beloved son of Robert and Dorothy [Daly] Kelly of Braintree and the loving brother of Andrew and his wife Karen of Braintree, Beth Adams and her husband Michael of Dorchester, and Brian and his wife Samantha of Easton, he is also survived by his nieces and nephews LouAnna ,Ashley “Maroo”, Pierce, Hayden Blakelyn, and Declan.

Visiting hours will be held  on Thursday August 21 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center. Relatives and friends are invited. On Friday, there will be a gathering  in the funeral home at 9 :00AM , followed by a  funeral mass at 10:00AM in Saint Joseph Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy. Burial will be in Blue Hill cemetery, Braintree.

Donations in Joey’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
