Obituaries

Joseph X. Dorsey III of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Houghs Neck, Quincy, passed away on March 14, 2019 at age 72. Raised and educated in Jamaica Plain, where he lived until 1974, he was a Vietnam Veteran, US Air Force. He worked many years for the MBTA and was a member of the American Legion Post 380.

The beloved husband of Barbara (Gleason) Dorsey, Joe was the loving father of Julieann Gomez of Weymouth, Daniel Dorsey of Holbrook, Joseph X. Dorsey IV of Quincy and the late Lisa Dorsey; dear grandfather of Michael Gomez and Jake Gomez of Weymouth, and Madelynne Dorsey, Hailey Dorsey and Joseph X. Dorsey V, all of Quincy; beloved brother of Marie Lydon of Mansfield, Patricia Perry of Marshfield, Dorothy Puleo of Norwood, Geraldine O’Malley of Weymouth and Michael Dorsey of Dorchester; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, April 1 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the Funeral Home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1015 Sea St. Quincy. Burial is at St. Joseph Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
