Obituaries

Josephine M. (Panarelli) LaFavre of Quincy passed away at Quincy Medical Center on Friday, March 19, 2010 at age 89. A lifelong Quincy resident, she had worked as a sales rep for Jordan Marsh Company for 21 years before retiring.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph J. LaFavre, Josephine was the loving mother of Jane E. Slayter and her husband Dr. Michael Slayter of Northbridge and Janet Mahon and her late husband Frank of Quincy; dear grandmother of Robert Harvey of Quincy, Diane Graham and her husband Steven of NH, Timothy Slayter and his wife Stephanie of VA,and Matthew Slayter and wife Katie of Chicago; great grandmother of Aaron, Rebecca, Andrew, Rex, Claudia, Noah and Josephine; beloved sister of Lawrence Panarelli of CA and the late Elizabeth Gerrior and Michael Panarelli. She was the dear friend of the late Esther O’Rourke and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center on Sunday, March 21 from 2:00 to 5:00pm. Family and friends are invited. On Monday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9;00am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00am. Burial is at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
