Obituaries

Judy Mary McQuinn-Downing, 51, of Rumney, New Hampshire died November 10, 2010 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Quincy where she was raised and educated, Judy graduated from Quincy High School in 1977 and Suffolk University in 1981. A NH resident for 30 years, she worked as an accountant at Speare Memorial Hospital, was the treasurer for the Russell Elementary School in Rumney and had worked for many years as a self-employed accountant. Judy was active in community affairs, such as the Rumney PTO and was a strong supporter of the athletics at the Russell School and Plymouth Regional High School.

The daughter of Howard R. and Mary A. (Comeau) McQuinn, Judy was the beloved wife of the late Edward James Downing, loving mother Benjamin E. Downing and Alyson M. Downing of Rumney, dear sister of Robert McQuinn, Susan McQuinn Joyce and Nancy Little, all of Quincy, dear friend of Diane Barriere, Maryann King-Beebe and Shawn Drohan-Shaw and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Gathering of Remembrance held on Saturday, November 27 from 2:00 to 5:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited.
