Obituaries

Katherine C. Walsh of Quincy passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at age 80. Raised in Jamaica Plain, she graduated from St. Mary of the Assumption High in Brookline. Before retiring, she worked for 25 years as a word processor for IBM. A longtime member of the YMCA, Kay was a member of the Sewing Circle where she shared her love of knitting & crocheting and enjoyed travelling, Bingo at St. Boniface Church, reading, cards and crossword puzzles.

The devoted daughter of the late Clem and Bessie Walsh, Kay was the loving sister of the late Thomas and William Walsh and Helen Gamache and her husband Robert of Houghs Neck with whom she lived for many years. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Tuesday, January 19 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Wednesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 8:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1017 Sea St. Quincy. Burial is at Pine Hill Cemetery.
