Katherine P. “Kitty” (Connolly) Mahoney of Quincy passed away at Carney Hospital on Friday, August 13, 2010 at age 75. Born in Dorchester where she was raised and educated, she lived in Quincy for 46 years and worked as a clerk for Kemper Insurance before retiring in 1998. She also volunteered for many years for the Auxiliary at Quincy Medical Center and with her husband for Meals on Wheels.

The beloved wife of 49 years to Richard F. Mahoney, Kitty was the loving mother of Barbara A. Vos and her husband Daniel of Anchorage, AK, Catherine M. Lynch and her husband Martin of Quincy, Richard F. Mahoney, Jr. and his wife Kerry of Weymouth and Sheila Guarnotta and her husband James of Tyngsboro, dear grandmother “Kitty” of Shaun, Katelyn, and Sarah Lynch, Michael, Jake and Dylan Mahoney, James Guarnotta and Brogan Vos and beloved sister of Ann Salemme of Chicago. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 19 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy Point. Burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
