Kathleen S. “Kathy” (Ferguson) Kane of Quincy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 27, 2011 at age 63.

Born in Walla Walla, Washington, she was raised and educated in California, lived in So. Boston for a time and in Quincy since 1975. A homemaker, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and a loving wife.

Married for 42 years to her beloved husband Daniel J. “Danny” Kane, Kathy was the much-loved mother of Kathleen McGratton and her husband Michael of San Diego, Ann Kane and her husband Mathew McNamara of So. Boston, Janet Kane and her husband Clint Antar Quincy, Daniel Kane of So. Boston, Mary Kane and her husband Julio Berrios of Los Angeles and Laura Kane of Quincy; dear grandmother of Hope, Ashlynn, Kelsey, Desmond and Alana; loving sister of Patrick, Laura and David Ferguson and Janet Mitsuyasu; sister-in-law of John, Thomas, Theresa and William Kane and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

As a fulltime grandmother, she divided her time between Quincy and San Diego doing the many things she loved. Her passions in life included her family, friends and community work. She was an active member of the Merrymount Association and Our Lady of Good Counsel Choir.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 227 Sea St. Quincy. Cremation will follow.
