Leo F. Burns III of Quincy passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at age 55. Originally from Dorchester, he lived in Quincy for the past 12 years. Leo was a US Army Veteran and a retired Boston Firefighter. The son of the late Barbara (Grealish) and Leo F. Burns, Jr., he was the loving father of Leo C. Burns of Dorchester; brother of Jack Burns of Weymouth, Lisa MacKenzie of Quincy and Michael Burns of New York City and is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Torrey, Ryan and Casey Burns and Kevin, Jordan and Jillian MacKenzie, his grandnephew Christopher A. Burns and Desiree Berry of Dorchester, the beloved mother of his son.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 12 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Cremation will follow.
