Loretta Ann (Pompeo) Whelton of Quincy , passed away on October 8, 2022 at the age of 87. Born, raised and educated in Quincy. Loretta was a bookkeeper for Shawmut Construction, a waitress , and a caring provider for her family.

Loretta was the beloved wife of the late Paul F. Whelton; dear daughter of the late Henry Pompeo and the late Margaret (Magura) Pompeo; loving mother to the late Mark S. Whelton, Paul M Whelton and his wife Harriet of Braintree, the late Steven H. Whelton , and Julie L. Whelton of Holbrook; doting grandmother to the late Scott Quinn, Ross M. Whelton and his girlfriend Stephanie Rodriguez, Marlene A. Alfano and her husband Steven, Nina E. Benoit and Tyler Currier; and most recently great grandmother to Nathan Michael Alfano; sister of the late Paul H. Pompeo ; sister in law to the late Sandra Pompeo ; aunt to Diane M. Pompeo – Maltby and her husband Bruce , Christopher Pompeo and Paul Scott Pompeo.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday October 17th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm Street , Quincy Center. On Tuesday there will be a service in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
