Louise (Uvanitte) Gagnon, 91, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011, in Augusta, Kansas. Born November 27, 1919 in Quincy to Daniel and Bambina Uvanitte, she was united in marriage to Alphonse Gagnon on January 6, 1946, at St. John’s Church. Louise lived 52 years in Concordia, Kansas where she was president of the Concordia VFW and retired from Cloud County Appraiser’s office. Louise lived her last years at LakePoint in Wichita and Augusta, Kansas. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, exceptional cook, avid reader, and friend to all who knew her.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Alphonse, brothers Dominic, Daniel, Louis, Paul, and a sister Jean. She is survived by her brother James Uvanitte of Quincy; five sons: Al Gagnon (wife Irene) of Wichita, Kansas, Richard Gagnon of Washington D.C., Ronald Gagnon (wife Mary) of Bridgewater, Connecticut, Gerad Gagnon of Valley Center, Kansas, Russell Gagnon of Los Angeles, California, two daughters: Mrs. Dave (Mary) Tyrell of Hutchinson, Kansas, Mrs. Jim (Trish) Cox of El Dorado, Kansas; and four grandchildren: Russ Tyrell, Zach Gagnon, Leah Gagnon, and Elizabeth Louise Gagnon.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 25 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Tuesday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial will be at Mount Wollaston Cemetery.
