Obituaries

M. Ann (Picard) Connolly of Quincy passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at age 87. A lifelong Quincy resident, she worked as a secretary for Dr. David Henry and at the Quincy Lumber Yard. A devoted parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, she was a member of the Ladies Sodality where she served as the first Prefect; an officer of the Catholic Daughters Corpus Christi; a 15-year volunteer for the So. Shore Sight Impaired Assoc. of Quincy and the first recording secretary for the Houghs Neck Community Council. She enjoyed knitting and traveling and was loved and respected by her many friends.

The beloved wife of the late William H. Connolly, Jr., Ann was the loving mother of Carol A. Virtue and her husband James of Walpole, Paul W. Connolly and his wife Barbara of Weymouth, Marc T. Connolly of Quincy, Clare M. Stavros of Quincy, John F. Connolly and his wife Lisa of Hingham, Peter J. Connolly and his wife Diane of Weymouth, Joan E. Connolly of Quincy and Nancy J. MacDonald and her husband Stephen of Weymouth; dear grandmother of Jordan, Victoria, Drew, Anthony, Amanda, Fallon, Rachel, Ryan, Katherine, Jack, Michael, Mackenzie, Liam, Matthew and Natalie; great-grandmother of Marshall, AJ, Veronica, Joshua and Gianna.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 227 Sea St Quincy. Burial at MA National Cemetery, Bourne is at 12:30PM.
