Margaret M. (McCarthy) Morehouse of Quincy passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at age 92. Raised and educated in Boston, Margaret “Peg” lived most of her life in Dorchester before moving to Quincy in 1990, where she was a resident of 1000 Southern Artery. The beloved wife of the late Raymond B. Morehouse, Margaret was the loving mother of Janet Parmiter and her husband Bruce of Hayes, VA; Ellen Benthal and her husband Dan of West Bath, ME; Mary M. Morehouse of Manchester, NH; and mother-in-law of Bill Piekos of Revere. She is predeceased by her children Carol Piekos and Edward Morehouse, her grandson William Raymond “Winkie”, and her siblings Alice Patterson, Francis “Buddy” McCarthy, and Elizabeth Swienton. She is survived by her grandchildren Bobby, Matthew, David, Annie, Joseph, Erin, Brian, Daniel, and Caroline, her great-grandchildren Robbie and Kyle, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 31 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday, there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial is at New Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.

Margaret’s family sends a special “thank you, thank you, thank you” to the staff at John Adams Healthcare for their compassionate care and attention.
