Margaret R. (Tocher) Stetz of Quincy passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at age 89. Born in Milford, NH, she was raised and educated there and in Aberdeen, Scotland. A WWII Army veteran, she was the first American WAC to sign up in Europe where she served during the war, receiving the WWII Victory Medal and Occupation Medal in Germany. She then lived in Dorchester and worked for many years as a secretary at the First National Bank of Boston and lived in Quincy for the past 22 years. Margaret, whose family was first in her life, was a member of the George F. Bryant VFW Post 613 and was the president of the Brackett Street Senior Housing Assoc. for many years.

The beloved wife of the late Andrew Stetz, Margaret was the loving mother of Jock Stetz and his wife Martha of Newtonville, NC, Drew Stetz and his wife Diane of Quincy, Marlene Knepper of Quincy, Peter Stetz and his wife Virginia of Nashua, NH, Barbara Hurley and her husband Jack of Yarmouth and Donald Stetz and his wife Christine of Nashua; dear grandmother of 10; great grandmother of 5; sister of the late Rose Sinclair and Stewart Tocher; and beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 26 from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Milford, NH at a later date.
