Margaret Plapis, 87, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2009 at home. Born October 9, 1921 in Quincy MA, Margaret was married in 1942 to late Thomas W. Plapis of Dorchester, MA for over 45 years. She leaves behind one son Thomas of Palm Coast, FL and one daughter Judith Carrara of Ebden, ME and their spouses Ruth A. Plapis and their son Thomas Jr. and daughter Kristin Plapis and her husband Casey Fowlie, and stepsons Brian Fierley, wife Kay Fierley, Fred Fierley, wife Mary Fierley, step daughters Cathy-Ann Fierley and Jo-Ann Owens and John Carrara and their daughter Yvonne Martin and sons Eric Carrara, Scott Carrara, great grandsons Jonathan Carrara, Nathan Fierley, Daniel Fierley, great granddaughter Nadine Oros, Stacy Fierley, Kelly Fierley, Julie Fierley and great great grandson Paul Mc Donald, Nolan Fowlie, and great great granddaughters Taryn Fowlie, Madison Fowlie. She was preceded in death by her sisters Josephine Di Tullio, Carmella Luciani, Virginia Hart and brother Michael Iacovello, Vincent Iacovello and survived by her sisters Rose Lowe Barney and her husband Harold Barney, Dorothy Rice, Lorretta Beaudoin and brothers Mario Iacovello, wife Stella Iacovello, Robert Iacovello wife Judy Iacovello, Paul Richard Iacovello, Lorenzo Iacovello wife Donna and all the nieces and nephews. Margaret was a devoted mother, grand and great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and matriarch of the Plapis family. She loved to cook for the family especially her meatballs, travel (Las Vegas) and do the meat raffles at the Elks and the Bingo and since her move to Florida she got into planting and cultivated her one orange tree and eggplant for her sauce. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 2 at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited. Immediately following, there will be Service in the funeral home. Burial is at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
