Marguerite F. (Reilly) Demone of East Falmouth, MA (born in Quincy, MA), passed away peacefully on December 24, 2020 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Harold W. Demone and devoted and loving mother of Deborah J. Demone of Mashpee, MA. Sister of the late David J. Reilly (and late sister-in-law Ruth Reilly) of Quincy, MA, and the late John Reilly (and surviving sister-in-law Geri Reilly) of Cotuit, MA. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Lynn Menconi of Hingham, MA, Patti Ann Hendrick of Cotuit, MA, John Reilly of East Fallowfield, PA, Thomas Reilly of Hillsboro, MD, Michael Reilly of Quincy, MA, and the late Sandra Reilly formerly of Quincy, MA, as well as several grand nieces and nephews. She worked tirelessly and fearlessly to integrate children with intellectual and developmental disabilities into the local public school system. She, along with her husband, were active members in The ARC (Association of Retarded Children/Citizens) of Massachusetts. Both were a driving force behind federal and state legislative initiatives regarding services and care related to individuals with mental disabilities. She was also a long-time advocate for women’s rights, serving as a member of the National Organization for Women (NOW).

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm Street, Quincy Center on Thursday, December 31st from 8:30 AM-9:30 PAM, followed by a funeral service at 10:45AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
