My heart goes out to Maria’s family. Maria was a blessing. I was fortunate to know Maria through her daughter, Julia. It is said that you always remember how someone made you feel. Maria made me feel at ease, welcomed in her home, and cared about. I admired Maria very much, and the way she lived her life will remain an inspiration to me. Many years ago Maria hosted a beautiful bridal shower for me, stepping in with my friends so generously. It is hard to believe that Maria has passed. I will miss her as will so many others. Thinking of her kind face and the loving way she had about her brings me a sense of peace and gratitude. God bless Maria. Love, Cheryl Brandwein and Family

We all loved Maria and have wonderful memories of her. I will always be grateful for her kindness and wisdom. When I lost my mother shortly before Mother's Day many years ago, Maria invited my dad and I to have dinner with her family so we wouldn't be alone. That was so thoughtful and we were grateful that our families have been close throughout the years. People like Maria are special and I will carry the memories of the times our friends and families have spent together. May her memory be a blessing for her family and all who knew her. We will miss you. With deepest sympathy, Janice, Bruce and Jean Ganek

As time goes by, as new experiences add up in our lives, many memories are forgotten and those that remains make it thanks to emotions. In summer 2008 my sister and I spent 1 month in Quincy, living with zia Maria. For us, raised with so many stories of "that side of our family" living in the US, this occasion was beyond special and made us feel in our skin that we are not only citizens of a small village in central Italy, but of a planet without borders. Now, after more than 10 years, many little memories are still with us: zia preparing breakfast in the morning, the little walks together around Roberts st, her polpette. But, above all, with no competition, the best memory is that of those words that zia Maria invented from time to time, mixing her Italian language with English. Even today, every time my sister or I say one, we can't do it without a big smile on our faces. Grazie zia Maria! Giulia e Andrea.
