Obituaries

Marie (Nota) Caggiano of Quincy passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at age 90. Born in New York City where she was raised and educated, she lived in Quincy most of her life. A homemaker, she had worked for Macy’s in New York and Remick’s in Quincy. She was a member of the  Ladies Sodality of St. Joseph’s Church where she was a longtime communicant. The beloved wife of Bartholomew “Barney” Caggiano, Marie was the loving mother of Philip Caggiano of Duxbury and Maryann Francischelli and her husband George of Madison, CT; dear grandmother of Nicole and Michael Francischelli; beloved sister of Anna Saladino and Terry Semenza, both of New York and the late Daniel Nota, Sam Nota, Margaret Nota and Joy Vanni; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00 AM followed by a Funereal Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church 550 Washington St. Quincy. Burial is at New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
