Share your Memorial with Family & Friends

Debbie, Tracy & family, We were so saddened to hear about the loss of your mother. There never was anyone quite like Auntie Marilyn and never will be again. She was an original! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love, Betty Hunt, Cindy Hall, Linda Brown & Margaret Duff.

Marilyn was an awesome and loving mother-in-law. The most interesting person I've ever met. She was an avid reader and had a vivid imagination. She traveled the world in her books. She loved old movies, especially anything with Cary Grant and Ava Gardner. Once on a trip to N.C. she insisted I take her by Ava Gardner's grave so she could put roses on it. She loved beautiful flowers, any baby, her own children and grandchildren and was a real mama bear when it came to them. She loved to travel by train and enjoyed being in a sleeper car from Boston to N.C. Once while taking her to catch a train back to Boston, she pleaded with me to stop beside a field of cotton to pick her a cotton ball because she had never seen one and another time to stop and pick her a magnolia blossom in someone's yard. She was always fun and looking for something interesting to do or see. While dining in a restaurant at Myrtle Beach, SC she couldn't get over the violet colored clouds out over the ocean, and talked about them for years. She saw the beauty nature put in front of her and soaked it in. She was an avid doll collector and broker of dolls. She made wonderful friends with doll makers from all over the world, including Australia, France, and Israel. She sold them to some very famous authors and actors. She had a great sense of style and enjoyed beautiful things. She was a delight and a love and I will miss her with all my heart. Did I say she was a real Red Sox fan, loved Egypt and the pyramids, old English shows and movies, shopping, traveling, especially to the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec in the old days. She loved the ballet and any museum and would go every chance she got. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. Her best friend, Millie, died recently, and she missed her very much, but loved to tell stories of their adventures. Anyone that knew her will miss her and her love of life. I say, sleep well my Marilyn and I hope to see you in heaven one day. You are now just like that ship that's just out of sight over the horizon, but still there in our hearts forever.
