Marilyn T. (Stewart) Vardaro of Quincy passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020 at age 92. Originally from South Boston where she lived most of her life, Marilyn moved to Quincy in 2007, but kept her Southie identity. When she moved to Quincy, she was lucky to live in the same building with her sister Shirley whom she loved very much. With her beloved late husband Americo “Mego” Vardaro, she spent spent every summer at Proctor’s cottage in NH with her daughter Maureen, Kathy and Alan, and later joined by Maureen’s husband Terry and the grandkids Jen and Chris. She lived for taking young Maureen to dance and Irish step, walking Redmond with her and joining the family at restaurant’s and fun places for the great-grandchildren. Marilyn and later partner/ best friend Robert “TOBY” Reed loved and cared for each other. They enjoyed going out to restaurants, church and parks, and making that food delivery to her family and the dogs. She loved singing while he played an instrument & listening to music with Bob’s mother. They both played a big part of Jennifer & partner Chris Talbot’s life ,always being there for them and spending special times together. Marilyn (to some as Ma, Nana, Sweetie, Nene, Nuna) was very loving and caring and did all she could to help and be there for those around her. She was a very proud special person who will forever be loved and missed.

Marilyn was the devoted mother of Maureen Jones and her husband Terry of Braintree; dear Nana of Jennifer Jones and her partner Chris Talbot and Christopher Jones and his fiancée Jennifer; great grandmother “Nene” of Tyler “TyTy” and Madison “Maddie” Jones. ; sister of the late Robert Benham, Shirley Needham, Claire Smith, Bertha Gillespie and Anna Metrokin; and is also survived by her loving partner Bob Reed of Quincy and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family and friends are invited to a visiting hour on Wednesday, December 9 at 9:00AM immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
