Mark W. Ryan of Medford passed away surrounded by his family after a 3-year battle with cancer on Friday, May 3, 2019 at age 63. Raised and educated in South Boston, he worked as a customer service agent at Verizon before retiring and was a member of the So. Boston Knights of Columbus. An avid Red Sox fan, Mark was also a music enthusiast and devoted husband, father and grandfather. The beloved husband of Martha C. (Thomas) Ryan, he was the loving father of Caitlin Ryan of Medford and Margaret Sweeney and her husband Brian of Quincy; dear Grampy of Samantha Sweeney of Quincy; beloved brother of Thomas Ryan and his wife Tina of Milton, NH, Michael Ryan and his wife Joanne of W. Roxbury and Paul Ryan and his wife Gayle of Quincy; brother-in-law of George and Mary Thomas of Medford; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many dear and devoted friends.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours which will be held on Wednesday, May 8 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. On Thursday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Cremation will follow.
