Obituaries

Martha F. (Guest) Morris of Danvers, formerly of Quincy, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at age 94.  A graduate of the Randolph School for the Deaf, she worked at the Elm Farm in Dorchester and then for the US Postal Service in Boston for 17 years, before retiring in 1989.Very active in the deaf community at the state and national levels, Martha was a member of the National Fraternal Society for the Deaf, the Boston Deaf Club and the Quincy Deaf Club where she served as treasurer.

The beloved wife of the late John F. Morris, Sr., Martha was the loving mother of John F. Morris and his wife Patricia of Hanover and Ann Marie Woods and her husband Thomas of Whitman; dear grandmother of Kathryn Joyce and her husband Daniel of Kingston, Stacey Diedrich and her husband Curtis of Hingham and Colleen Morris of Quincy; great-grandmother of John and Anna Joyce and Alexander and William Diedrich; sister of Marie Ruggia of NJ and the late Edward, Anthony,William and John Guest; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 21 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Friday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church 44 School St. Quincy. Burial is at New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
