Martin E. Hagan of Oxford, CT passed away on February 10, 2011 at age 68. Son of the late Edward and Catherine (Conway) Hagan, he was raised and educated in Goshen, NY, a graduate of St. John’s High School. After graduating from St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, PA, Martin joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. When he returned to the States, he worked as an electrical engineer for the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, CA, assisting on the Mars Space Probe, the Mariner. Through the years, he also worked for RCA, Bell & Howell, McDonnell Douglas, Hewlett Packard and most recently for Technipower in Danbury, CT and in his spare time enjoyed making models. He lived in several areas of the country, including Hingham, MA, where he chose to be buried.

The beloved husband of Catherine F. (Sheehan) Hagan, Martin was the loving father of Edward Hagan of Southbury, CT, Christopher Hagan of Chicago, IL and Sean Hagan of Oxford, CT, dear grandfather of Ethan and Eliya of Southbury, CT and Marie and Rian of Chicago and is also survived by his sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 18 from 6:30 to 9:00pm at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home 74 Elm St. Quincy Center. Family and friends are invited. On Saturday there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Church 147 North St. Hingham. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
